Half-century, not out!
Tomorrow marks the first day that we are allowed “unlimited exercise”. So, the OS maps are out and I’m planning a big cycle!
For fifty days, we’ve been confined to an hour of exercise and my bicycle has been used more to pop to the shops than to go out exploring. So now, with the slight relaxing of the lockdown restrictions, it’s time to get back out on the saddle and go for a proper ride.
I’m lucky that, where I live, there are a number of good cycle paths, back roads and little lanes perfect for a pootle in the countryside. I may even make it down to the coast. I don’t care where I go, I’ll just be glad to get out and not feel so guilty for being out!
Slowly, gently, we are emerging from lockdown. Like a caterpillar out of a pupas we shall soon be fully-fledged butterflies. But until then, we’ll just wriggle around a bit more and for a bit longer than we did in the first part of lockdown.
If I don’t blog tomorrow, it’s because I’m still out!
