Lockdown Blog Days 54 and 55

Saturday, 16th and Sunday, 17th May 2020

I finally got out for my long ride on Saturday. A ride across town and into the next village along a beautiful track beside a river and railway line.

If this had been normal times, I would have explored the local bookshop, the village store and stayed for a cup of tea or a bite to eat in a local café. Instead, I rode round in a big circle and came back home again.

So that’s how I’m going to rescue the economy. Sod the big businesses who have been cashing in on this. I’ll be deliberately taking my money out of the supermarkets and big chains and seeking out the local and independent businesses.

And I’ll be starting with the barber. I’m not brave enough to do it myself but I feel I’m only days from butchery rather than barbering!
