Copyediting gives you the confidence to publish your words knowing your manuscript is free from errors and issues. Your manuscript is made consistent, clear and concise, facts are checked and language is used correctly. Copyediting is an essential step in the publishing process, and vital for anyone considering self-publishing their book, fiction or non-fiction.

How much does it cost?
My copyediting rate is currently £32/hour. As a rough guide, I can copyedit around 3,000 words an hour, however this is dependent on your manuscript. Contact me today to get a bespoke quote.
How long does it take?
Depending on the length of your manuscript, you should allow around 3 to 4 weeks for me to copyedit your book. Obviously, shorter pieces can be returned quicker!
Do I have to pay a deposit?
I require just a £100 deposit to secure your slot.
What gets returned to me?
When I send back the files, you’ll receive your edited manuscript, my style sheet and a feedback and queries sheet. You can see examples on my Ko-fi page.
What feedback do you give?
If there are general queries or feedback that needs your further attention, I will give this to you in a separate feedback and queries sheet. This allows me the chance to explain things fully and can apply to issues across the manuscript.
What should I do after copyediting?
Once you have made all the changes you want to the manuscript based on my copyedit, it is time to get your manuscript ready for publication. Typesetting and formatting would be next, followed by a proofread.
