You’ve got the words written, now you need to wrap them up! Readers do judge a book by its cover and so it’s vital you make it stand out.
Getting a cover designed is an important step in the self-publishing process. Making sure you get this right so that you draw readers into your words is vital. That’s why I’m pleased to introduce you to a cover designer I met through Everywhere is Queer, a network of queer-owned businesses.

Meet Halli! She is an author and cover designer, among other things, and runs a fantastic self-publishing resource list.
“Halli Starling started designing covers for her own books first, using her years as a librarian and time spent working in the book business to help her create appealing ones. After a few years doing self-publishing, she saw there was a great need for affordable pre-made and custom book covers and started designing them for other indie authors. She has worked with the Twisted Retreat Book Box and indie authors from all over the world. Halli can work with almost any genre, but has a lot of experience in fantasy, thriller, horror and romance cover art and particularly enjoys designing covers for her fellow queer indie authors.
Some of these pre-made covers can be as cheap as $10! I’ve included some examples below but click the link to find out more!
